Wayne Coyne posts teasers of his collaboration with Bon Iver

by Andrea Swensson

January 25, 2012

If you follow Wayne Coyne on Twitter, chances are you've glimpsed some jarringly intimate moments from his day-to-day life. Whether it's photos of his wife getting dressed, a close-up shot of a mysterious bug bite, or sketches he's made between recording sessions and interviews, Coyne uses his feed to let loose a stream-of-consciousness assault of images and thoughts.

So it's not too surprising that Coyne has already started leaking snippets of his forthcoming Record Store Day release, a Flaming Lips record that will feature collaborations from artists ranging from Neon Indian and Edward Sharpe to Erykah Badu and Yoko Ono's Plastic Ono Band. But the most intriguing collaboration for regional fans is the track he'll release with Bon Iver, which he was apparently just tweaking in the studio last night.

Sneak a peek of the new song in two snippets below.

The new Flaming Lips album will drop on Record Store Day, April 21, under the watchful eye of freshly minted RSD 2012 ambassador Iggy Pop.
