Local Current Live showcases Chastity Brown, Van Stee, and The Chalice

May 29, 2012

If you follow the Current closely, you already know that we have a few different ways to introduce music fans to promising new local artists. This blog is one route, obviously, where we can debut brand-new tracks via a series of posts called the Local Radar and profile artists through interviews and show reviews. We also stream our favorite new material on the Local Current channel and bring artists in to record sessions for our Local Show, which airs every Sunday night with host Dave Campbell.

As a way to celebrate some of the excellent artists that have come through our studios and to bring our endeavor full circle, we've put together an event called Local Current Live. The show will not only feature sets by some of our favorite Minnesota acts, but it will serve as a way for fans and other musicians to connect with our Local Current team -- we'll even have a booth where musicians can submit CDs for airplay consideration and update their Minnewiki page, and fans can tell us about their favorite local acts.

Local Current Live will take place on Wednesday, June 27 at the Cedar Cultural Center and feature headlining soul-folk powerhouse Chastity Brown, psychedelic pop band Van Stee, and hip-hop trio The Chalice. And thanks to the Minnesota Legacy Amendment's Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund, the whole event is free.

RSVP to the event on Facebook and help spread the word.
