Monday, December 24

Jewbilee 2012
7th St. Entry, Minneapolis
8:00 PM, $3, 18+
The annual bash started by DJ and avid concertgoer Danny Sigelman provides a respite from Christmas festivities for Jewish music lovers. This year's event will feature an all-star cast of performers, including the Sons of Moses with Bobby Z and Sim Glaser, Minnesota Free Klezmer Orchestra, Mike 2600, and a handful of comedians.

A super-sized hoot in honor of omnipresent showgoer Allison Locey, who will be celebrating her birthday. Led by Jim Walsh and featuring Brianna Lane, Mayda, Katy Vernon, Ben Glaros, Ashleigh Still, Martin Devaney, Frank Randall, Chris Perricelli, Terry Walsh, Eliza Blue, and more.

Moore By Four
Dakota Jazz Club, Minneapolis

Vocal quintet Moore by Four were one of the Dakota's biggest regular acts back in the '80s and '90s; now, their performances as a group are more rare, but the members are still familiar faces in both the jazz and choral scenes. The group is led by Sanford Moore and includes Connie Evingson, Ginger Commodore, Dennis Spears, and Yoalande Bruce.

One of Minneapolis's finest avant jazz trios returns for their annual run of late-December shows at the Dakota. Also Friday and Saturday nights. 

Ten Centuries

"Calling all ghosts," reads the invite for this night, which conjurs up rare appearances by wintry indie-folk duo Ten Centuries and Askeleton, plus bassist Sean McPherson's side project Twinkie Jiggles Broken Orchestra.

Occupy the Mic: Hip Hop Benefit

Some of the area's best sociopolitical rappers rally to raise money for the Occupy Homes movement. Featuring I Self Devine, The Lioness, Toki Wright, Guante, and more.

Soul Asylum

Minneapolis legends Soul Asylum return for their first local show without founding member Danny Murphy, who left the group earlier this year. The show will feature a performance of their breakout 1992 album Grave Dancers Union

The Sunny Era Vinyl Release

Eclectic chamber-folk group the Sunny Era reprise their release show from earlier this winter, this time in celebration of a vinyl imprint of their new album, Lost in the Sea of Ghosts.

Absolutely Cuckoo: Minnesota Covers the "69 Love Songs"

This one's a biggie. In coordination with the release of the all-Minnesotan covers album Absolutely Cuckoo, an enormous cast of local luminaries will gather in the Mainroom to perform the Magnetic Fields' seminal concept album 69 Love Songs live. Featuring Actual Wolf, Bethany Larson and the Bees Knees, the Chalice, Me & My Arrow, and many, many more.

Mages EP-Release Show

Dreamy psych-rockers Mages celebrate the release of their new EP, Serotonin Sails, with support from Love Lake and Rupert Angeleyes.

Adam J Dunn's Farewell Party

Up-and-coming videographer Adam J. Dunn bid adieu to the Twin Cities before migrating to California. His farewell bash will feature performances by Toussaint Morrison and Ceewhy feat. Raising Mons.

The Pinsch Carnival New Year's Party
