The Suburbs, P.O.S. added to MN Music-on-a-Stick lineup at the State Fair

by Andrea Swensson

June 10, 2013

Now in its second year, the MN Music-on-a-Stick showcase at the State Fair Grandstand just keeps getting bigger.

Rapper P.O.S. and new wave trailblazers the Suburbs—who, coincidentally, just played together in downtown St. Paul at the big "Love is the Law" show in support of same-sex marriage last month—have just been added to a bill that already included Trampled by Turtles, Mason Jennings, and the Chalice.

After decades spent off the stage, it's suddenly been a busy few years for the Suburbs. In addition to drawing a crowd of thousands to their free show in St. Paul last month, they just sold-out the Cabooze this past Saturday and will play TC Pride at the end of this month. It's all a lead-up to the release of their new album, which the band says is currently in the works.

MN Music-on-a-Stick is happening Friday, August 30, and will kick off at 5 p.m. Tickets are $28 and available online here.

Set times:

5:00 p.m. The Chalice

5:45 p.m. P.O.S.

6:50 p.m. Mason Jennings

8:20 p.m. The Suburbs

9:45 p.m. Trampled by Turtles

11:00 p.m. Fireworks
