Minneapolis celebrates Har Mar Superstar Day

by Andrea Swensson

September 20, 2013

Have you heard? With his big sold-out show at First Avenue tonight, Har Mar Superstar Day has been declared in Minneapolis by Mayor R.T. Rybak.

Given Har Mar's antics and unparalleled live performance skills, this proclamation opens the door for all kinds of debaucherous celebrations.

So just how does one observe a holiday as glorious as Har Mar Superstar Day? Tearaway pants seem to be a requisite, as does a visit to the now-historic Har Mar mall where beloved Owatonna Sean Tillmann found his stage name. (Though it doesn't look quite the same; it's now home to several box stores.) To help you plan out your HMMD, we rounded up some of the best tweets from our followers and assembled them into a helpful guide.

You can also find the official proclamation from Mayor RT Rybak below, which will presumably be read at some point during tonight's festivities at First Avenue.
