Doomtree releasing 500-page, career-spanning photo book

by Andrea Swensson

July 01, 2014

Just in time for their performance at MN Music-on-a-Stick on Saturday, August 30 (where they'll play alongside Brother Ali, Bob Mould, Cloud Cult, Har Mar Superstar, and the Cactus Blossoms at the Minnesota State Fair Grandstand), Doomtree have announced that they'll self-release a massive 500-page book on August 26.

Doomtree: Every Single Day promises to include glossy photos from throughout the crew's decade-plus career, including behind-the-scenes shots, scans of lyric sheets, set lists, and more. "This book is HUGE (like bigger than your highschool textbooks huge). It weighs seven pounds," the crew writes on their book's pre-order page, adding that only 1,500 copies will be produced.

The pre-order includes an autographed copy of the book and a limited 22-track Best of False Hopes compilation that features "rare, unreleased, and out-of-print songs" from Doomtree's earliest years as a group.

In other DTR news, MCs Cecil Otter, P.O.S., Dessa, Mike Mictlan, and Sims, and producers Lazerbeak and Paper Tiger have squired away to a North Woods cabin to continue work on their next studio album, which could see a release by the end of this year. Lazerbeak writes that they are, "wrapping up the writing portion of the album as we speak, and we hit the studio to start tracking final vocals later this week!"
