Today’s Music News: Andre 3000 plays Jimi Hendrix, and more

We got our first glimpse at Outkast’s Andre 3000 as Jimi Hendrix in the new biopic Jimi: All Is By My Side—though we’re warned “this is not a movie about Hendrix and his relationship with music. If anything, it’s about Hendrix’s relationships with other people, specifically the women in his life.” The movie comes out on September 26. (Washington Post)

Looks like we’ll be getting  a new album from The National sometime in the near future. While the band is busy currently touring in support of their latest album, Trouble Will Find Me, and the documentary about the band, Mistaken for Strangers, they think they’ll start working on their next album in October.(Paste Magazine)
