The Current's Bill DeVille celebrated five years of United States of Americana with a sold out crowd last night at the Turf Club in St. Paul, Minn. On the bill were rising acts in the genre including Minneapolis' Frankie Lee and Jack Klatt and Texas-based Israel Nash, who stopped by The Current with his full band to record a live in-studio session before the party.
Leading up to last night's celebration of the rootsier side of The Current, Bill reflected on the history of United of States of Americana. He shared thoughts memories of his five favorite moments, too, including a live session and interview with Rosanne Cash that aired the day that United States of Americana debuted on Nov. 9, 2009.
Cheers to five great years of United States of Americana and the many more to follow!
Israel Nash
