Friday Five: Dem Atlas, Bunny Clogs, and more new Minnesota music videos
January 16, 2015
Happy Friday! While away the final hours of the workweek with a fresh match of Minnseota-made music videos, including a new one from rapper Dem Atlas, a family affair from Adam Levy, and a rock quartet decked out in plastic PVC suits. You know, the usual stuff.
Dem Atlas
Young rapper Dem Atlas turns inward for his soul-searching new single, "Drive North," which appears on his new Rhymesayers EP, DWNR.
Bunny Clogs
If you're looking for a fun place to take the kids this weekend, try Bunny Clogs' big record-release show at the Cedar tomorrow morning. The Honeydogs' frontman Adam Levy will be celebrating the release of their sophomore album, Whales Can't Whistle, , along with his daughters Esther and Ava Bella.
ACTN
ACTN is Gus Watkins, a beguiling electronic artist and talented vocalist and songwriter. Gus will be kicking off an ACTN tour on January 20 at Icehouse, and just released this new single "Drinking Your Words" with a B-side titled "Made of Light"; check out both tracks on Bandcamp.
Step Rockets
Step Rockets don skin-tight PVC plastic body suits for this futuristic new video, which they said was influenced by '80s music videos and a shared love of carbon space cubes.
Mark Stockert
Singer-songwriter Mark Stockert re-emerged recently with a new single, "Leavin," and a cinematic new video.
