Premiere: Taggart & Rosewood, ‘The Eastern Five (Shot on Site)’

by Jay Gabler

January 07, 2015

Who are Taggart & Rosewood? They made a mysterious debut this past summer at the Totally Gross National Party, playing music that sounds altogether new yet also strangely familiar.

That sense of familiarity comes because the two masked men are no strangers to local music fans: they're superproducer Ryan Olson (Poliça, Lizzo, Marijuana Deathsquads) and Zach Coulter of Solid Gold. Olson and Coulter were two of the driving forces behind 2010 phenomenon GAYNGS, and now they're reuniting under the names of two characters from Beverly Hills Cop.

Taggart & Rosewood's debut album The Killingest is set for release on Jan. 27 via local label Totally Gross National Product. They'll be in our studios this very afternoon for a set that promises to be one of the most interesting we've ever hosted—and not just for musical reasons. You can hear the session on the Jan. 25 episode of the Local Show, 6:00-8:00 p.m. on The Current; also be sure to watch our website for video.

Today, we're pleased to present the world premiere of album track "The Eastern Five (Shot on Site)," an atmospheric ballad.
