Friday Five: Teaser videos from Cloud Cult, the Eaux Claires festival, and more

by Andrea Swensson

February 06, 2015

We're going to keep things cruising along at a steady clip in this week's Friday Five—with the short teaser videos and other goodies I've rounded up, you should be able to breeze through all five updates in a little over five minutes. Ready, set, let's go!

Cloud Cult

Cloud Cult are hard at work on a new album out at the Minowas' farm in Viroqua, Wisc., and have offered up a short teaser of a new song called "Every Thing." They'll be playing some of their new material live tomorrow night at Papa Charlies in Lutsen, Minn.

Eaux Claires

In anticipation of the big lineup announcement coming soon, the Eaux Claires festival has been posting some trippy, chopped-up teaser videos featuring the poetry of renowned Eau Claire author Michael Perry. (Here's another one.)

Koo Koo Kanga Roo feat. P.O.S.

Well this is adorable. Ecstatic rap duo Koo Koo Kanga Roo enlisted P.O.S. and breakdancers from the House of Dance TC to help them make a video for their ode to orange juice, "Shake it Well." Read more about how it came together here.

Mac Irv

For his new video, "The Cycle," north Minneapolis rapper Mac Irv takes a heartbreaking and sobering look at the recurring issues plaguing his community. The song "was created to bring awareness to African-American/urban communities all over the country about the reoccurring violence that plagues our community," he writes. "We have to realize these senseless acts of violence not only affect the people directly involved but continues the destruction of our families and our future. How and when do we stop 'THE CYCLE'??" (Heads up: Contains explicit language and imagery.)

SOY BOMB

With the Grammys around the corner, it's a good time to revisit some of the award ceremony's most iconic moments. And who could forget SOY BOMB?
