The Current is proud to present a track from Koo Koo Kanga Roo's album Whoopty Woop. On "Shake It Well," a paean to the joys of orange juice, Bryan and Neil are joined by very special guest P.O.S.
"In 2006 Bryan and I were sophomores in college," explains Neil, "and also roommates. P.O.S's second album Audition had just come out on Rhymesayers and it was pretty much all we listened to that year. We’ve been huge fans ever since. All his albums are good. He makes us proud to be from Minnesota.
"So in December 2013 when we were recording songs for our new album, we had a song about orange juice called 'Shake It Well.' We thought it would be fun to have a guest verse on the song and P.O.S was number one on our wish list. (Coolio was number two.) We tweeted at Stef [P.O.S], and he was into it. Bam. Easy as that. His verse is silly good too.
"The moral of the story is: tweet at your favorite rappers and maybe they will rap about orange juice on your song."
