Prince releases audio from Paisley Park ‘Dance Rally 4 Peace’

by Jay Gabler

May 13, 2015

Before playing a high-profile "Rally 4 Peace" concert in Baltimore on Sunday, Prince and 3RDEYEGIRL warmed up with a "Dance Rally 4 Peace" at Paisley Park on Saturday, May 2. He's now released 42 minutes of audio from that concert, streaming on Soundcloud. (Listen below.)

On Saturday, Prince also used Soundcloud as the platform for the release of "Baltimore," his song reflecting on recent events in that city and across the country. He didn't play the song at Paisley Park; it made its live debut at the Baltimore concert, with State's Attorney Marilyn J. Mosby standing onstage. Backstage after the show, Jay Z, Beyoncé, and Alicia Keys met with members of the families of Freddie Gray and Michael Brown.

Coinciding with the song release, Prince and 3RDEYEGIRL officially re-emerged on Twitter, launching a new verified account (@Prince3EG) to replace the @3RDEYEGIRL account that was closed as part of Prince's social-media retreat last November.
