Suicide Commandos adopt a highway

by Jay Gabler

July 29, 2015

You should never throw trash out your car window—but be especially careful along Hennepin County Road 16, where you might be creating extra work for some civic-minded punk rockers.

Legendary local band the Suicide Commandos have adopted a 1.5-mile section of McGinty Road, which runs through Wayzata. On Facebook, frontman Chris Osgood has posted photos of signs reading THANKS TO THE SUICIDE COMMANDOS PUNK ROCK BAND.

"Thank You Hennepin County!" writes Osgood. "We'll do our best!"

It's been a big year for local musicians and street signs: St. Paul has recently dedicated Positively 4th Street and Dave Ray Avenue.
