Nightingale and Rush River announce “Suds for Slim” benefit for Slim Dunlap

by Jay Gabler

August 21, 2015

The latest in a series of local fundraisers for Slim Dunlap is a "Suds for Slim" benefit being hosted by Nightingale on Wednesday, September 2.

The Minneapolis restaurant says it will have a custom hoppy Small Axe Golden Ale on tap from Wisconsin's Rush River Brewing Company—the only Small Axe on tap in Minnesota. According to Nightingale's newsletter, the kegs will be tapped on September 2, and "bottomless custom-made pints will be available for you to keep." Proceeds will go to Slim and Chrissie Dunlap.

Dunlap, a local singer-songwriter who's also well-known as a member of the Replacements, has incurred significant medical expenses in the wake of a 2012 stroke. Various projects to help support Dunlap have included "Songs for Slim" music releases; in June, Dunlap was honored with a star on the wall of First Avenue. You can learn more about helping Slim Dunlap via the Songs for Slim website.
