For the second time, the Children’s Hospitals and Clinics of Minnesota will be holding an annual benefit concert — held over the course of two nights at the Fine Line Music Café, Dec. 18-19.
The first night will feature brother-and-sister duo Wild Belle with special guests Peter Wolf Crier, Jillian Rae, and Old Desert Road. The second night will star singer/songwriter Matt Hires accompanied by special guests Chris Koza, Dan Rodriguez, and Sammy Brown (A Firm Handshake).
Wild Belle is the combination of Elliot Bergman and his younger sister Natalie “Belle” Bergman. They’re currently working on a new album, and have already released a single (“Giving Up On You“). Since they started working on the record in Jamaica, they told 88Nine Radio, the album has Jamaican influences as well as West African — a very different sound from their first full-length album, Isles, released in 2012.
Hires, a Floridian, was originally the front man for Brer. He’s since become a solo act, with his most recent full-length record, This World Won’t Last Forever, But Tonight We Can Pretend, out in 2013.
Tickets for the first and second nights of the benefit can be purchased online for $25 GA ($50 VIP). There’s also the option to purchase “The Current” 2 Day VIP pass for $89.30, which includes two nights of balcony access, $20 bar tab, appetizers, and a free gift from The Current.
