Lizzo and Sadie Dupuis release new track ‘Basement Queens’

by Jay Gabler

January 20, 2016

Lizzo has just dropped a new track, "Basement Queens," in collaboration with Sad13 — that would be the new pop moniker of Sadie Dupuis of Speedy Ortiz. The track is available exclusively on Google Play. Why? Because its creation was sponsored by Google.

In the video below, watch Lizzo and Dupuis — who had never previously met — brainstorm the song via Google Docs, then hit the recording studio together.

Riding high on the success of her critically-lauded sophomore album Big GRRRL Small World, Lizzo is set to play First Avenue on Feb. 6.
