Nye’s Polonaise Room sets closing date: April 3

by Jay Gabler

January 15, 2016

The closing of Nye's Polonaise Room has been imminent for so long that it was almost starting to seem like it was never actually going to happen — but now, after months of delays in potential development plans, the legendary bar's owners have set a date. April 3 will be the last day that Nye's will be open for business.

With plans for redevelopment close to being finalized, the Star Tribune reports, owners Rob and Tony Jacobs have declared that a "final blowout party" will mark the end of an era. Construction on a new six-story development will likely begin this spring or summer, with a target of 2017 for completion.
