Chanhassen declares Paisley Park Day

by Jay Gabler

October 28, 2016

With unexpected zoning wrangles finally over, Mayor Denny Laufenburger has officially declared today Paisley Park Day in the City of Chanhassen as Prince's studio opens permanently for public tours.

Mayor Laufenburger, who advocated turning the studio into a museum, read the proclamation in the venue lobby this morning — flanked by Prince's longtime friend and studio manager Kirk Johnson as well as by Trevor Guy, who worked closely with Prince in recent years. Both Johnson and Guy collaborated with Prince's estate and with museum manager Graceland Enterprises to build the displays visitors now see at Paisley Park.
