Paisley Park granted temporary permit to open for some tours

by Jay Gabler

October 04, 2016

Paisley Park has announced that it has been granted a temporary permit to open for tours on Oct. 6, 8, and 14. Some ticket holders for other dates will be accommodated on those dates, and others will have their ticket prices refunded. The venue says that ticket holders for the cancelled date will receive e-mail instructions shortly.

The compromise will allow the venue to accommodate many, though not all, fans who have already purchased tour tickets. The venue says they are also planning an exhibition of Prince memorabilia for the Mall of America, open as soon as next week to all Paisley Park ticket holders.

Below is the complete statement from Paisley Park. Read more about the city council vote that forced the venue to alter its plans.

CHANHASSEN, Minn. – October 4, 2016 – The Chanhassen, Minnesota City Council has granted Paisley Park a temporary permit to open the museum for tours on Thursday, October 6, Saturday October 8 and Friday, October 14 while Paisley Park continues to work closely with the council on their traffic and zoning concerns. No new tickets are available for October 6, 8 or 14. Special off-site parking and shuttle bus service to Paisley Park will be provided on those three days.

For guests who have tickets for October 7, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13 and 15, we will accommodate as many as possible on October 6, 8 and 14 and provide refunds for their original dates. We will send further information on this process via email to these ticket holders shortly.

Paisley Park is also in discussions with the Mall of America to host an exhibition of Prince artifacts and wardrobe, which we anticipate opening by early next week. This exhibition will be available to all ticket holders while we continue to work through the Paisley Park review process with the city council. Tickets holders will still be able to use their tickets for Paisley Park at a later date. More info on the Mall of America exhibition will be provided shortly.

For ticket holders for October 16 date and beyond, we are hopeful that we can arrange for additional temporary permit dates at Paisley Park, and will keep guests updated as we learn more.

We remain committed to giving Prince’s countless fans the opportunity to visit Paisley Park to honor, celebrate and remember the life, legacy, and music of one of the greatest most beloved artists of all time.

Further information will be forthcoming.
