Friday Five: PaviElle, the Cactus Blossoms, and more new MN videos

by Andrea Swensson

March 14, 2014

Happy Friday, friends! I'm keeping this one short and sweet. Between the SXSW live broadcast going on this afternoon and the sunny weather taunting us outside, I'm guessing we're all itching to get away from our computers right about now. How about a handful of new local music videos to make the last part of the workday tick by a little faster?

PaviElle

I've had my eye on PaviElle for a while now, and am very much looking forward to her full album dropping later this spring. For now, enjoy this little ditty she recorded at her keyboard—and catch her live this coming Wednesday, March 19 at Icehouse.

Skittish

Skittish is a band name I've seen popping up more and more lately, and I'm glad I finally got around to checking them out. If you like what you hear in this old-timey video, check out more of their new EP on Bandcamp.

The Cactus Blossoms

I cannot think of a more perfect match than the Cactus Blossoms and A Prairie Home Companion. That's about as Garrison Keillor as it gets, folks.

C.M.J.

Rapper C.M.J. is back with a charged new video for the song "Political Party."

Web of Sunsets

This has been my looking out the window super pensively song for a while now, so I was psyched to hear that Web of Sunsets performed it during their recent Local Show in-studio. Hear the whole session and their interview with host David Campbell this Sunday night at 6 p.m.
