The reunion of iconic alt-rock trio Sleater-Kinney has been one of the biggest music stories in recent months, and that news just got a lot bigger for local music fans: none other than Lizzo has been tapped to tour with Sleater-Kinney, opening for the band on 16 dates including their Valentine's Day gig at First Avenue.
Many of the shows (including First Ave) are already sold out, and the rest are highly likely to. Listen here to Sleater-Kinney's new album No Cities to Love.
Before Lizzo heads off on tour with Sleater-Kinney, you'll be able to see her performing with the Heiruspecs band next Tuesday at a Purple Rain tribute show and movie screening as part of The Current's tenth anniversary celebrations. Coinciding with the Sleater-Kinney news, Lizzo released a new episode of her video tour diary.
