‘Morris Day and the HAIM’ to play Jimmy Kimmel on Feb. 9

2014 was a banner year for Minnesota artists on late-night TV (among them the Replacements, Jeremy Messersmith, Lizzo, and Trampled By Turtles)—and 2015 is starting with a bang, as Morris Day plays Jimmy Kimmel on Feb. 9. There's a twist, though: the Minneapolis pop-funk legend will appear as part of a special mash-up series, and he'll be joined by the sisters of HAIM.
The combined act will, of course, be called Morris Day and the HAIM.
Other performances in the mash-up series, which will be featured Mondays in February, include Wee-Z Top (Weezer and ZZ Top, Feb. 2) and Aloe Blaccstreet (Aloe Blacc and Blackstreet, Feb. 16).
HAIM visited our studios last year, and during that visit Este Haim talked about her enduring obsession with Prince. Who wants to bet she can do the Bird really, really well?
