Even as Justin Vernon and Aaron Dessner have been busy rolling out details regarding this summer's new Eaux Claires Festival, Dessner's bandmate Bryce Dessner's MusicNOW Festival—an annual festival in Cincinnati, typically featuring unusual combinations of artists—is preparing to celebrate its tenth year with a series of shows from March 11-15 featuring artists including Sufjan Stevens, white-hot classical composer Nico Muhly, and the Dessners' band The National.
As part of the celebration, SPIN reports, the festival is releasing a new compilation: MusicNOW—10 Years will be released on March 10. The album includes performances by Stevens, Dirty Projectors, Bonnie "Prince" Billy, Grizzly Bear, Andrew Bird, and Vernon, among many others. The compilation's opening track, "Trials, Troubles, Tribulations," is credited to "Sounds of the South," a supergroup comprising Vernon, Sharon Van Etten, Matthew E. White, Megafaun, and Fight the Big Bull.
