Communist Daughter, whose track “Not the Kid” has been a staple of The Current’s local music programming since its release in 2010, are back on the scene with a big show at the First Ave mainroom this Friday, July 6, with headliners Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit and openers Red Daughters. The show heralds the release of a new EP from the band, Lions and Lambs, as well as a more expansive tour schedule that finds the band capitalizing on their growing national buzz by playing out in several major cities.
You may remember Andrea Swensson’s January interview with the band’s frontman Johnny Solomon, the feature that launched this blog. Well, on last weekend’s Local Show, Solomon stopped back to give David Campbell an update on his life and a little back story on some of the band’s new material. Listen below, and don’t forget to stop by First Ave on Friday night to check them out!
