Liars’ Aaron Hemphill gets Prince tattoo backstage at First Ave

It's not unusual for bands to request special drinks, food, or other accommodations be made available to them backstage while they are playing a show. But last night at First Avenue, Liars co-founder Aaron Hemphill made one big request: That a tattoo artist be sent backstage to tattoo Prince's glyph on his finger before the show.

Hemphill, a huge Prince fan, asked tour manager Robyn Lewis (a Minneapolitan herself) to make the arrangements, and shortly before they played he met up with a local tattoo artist in the greenroom for the impromptu session.
