First Avenue announces 45th anniversary show with Har Mar Superstar and Sonny Knight

For local music fans of a certain age, it may be hard to believe that it was nearly 45 years ago that First Avenue welcomed Joe Cocker to the stage of the former bus depot that was appropriately known as "the Depot" to inaugurate a second life for what would become one of the most iconic, beloved music venues in America.
On April 3, First Avenue will celebrate its 45th birthday with a concert featuring Har Mar Superstar, Sonny Knight, and to-be-announced "special guests." Tickets go on sale tomorrow at noon.
Har Mar is an apt choice to headline the anniversary show: his long history with the venue includes arguing his way onto the permanent guest list by observing that he makes the venue cooler just by walking in the door.
