2015 Minnesota Music Summit to feature great music and good advice
The Minnesota Music Coalition‘s annual Minnesota Music Summit is coming to the Amsterdam Bar & Hall and McNally Smith College of Music next weekend (April 9-11), with a packed lineup of concerts, artist workshops, video screenings, industry panels, mentoring sessions, networking events, and a keynote address by Dar Williams.
The Current’s Local Show host, David Campbell, will be there to participate in the three-day event as well as to receive the inaugural Minnesota Music Champion Award. Reflecting on his 18 years hosting radio shows of local music during a period when Minnesota music has gained an ever-higher profile across the country, David said, “I’m just lucky that something I love to do has become part of a larger movement. I’m very flattered.”
Highlights of the 2015 Minnesota Music Summit will include Williams’s keynote address; performances by Chastity Brown, MaLLy, Fathom Lane, Tiny Deaths, and the Counterfactuals; screenings of Minnesota-made music videos in association with the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Film Festival; and parties at Summit Brewing and Third Bird.
