P.O.S announces second TFBSE festival, featuring Big Freedia and more

by Andrew Tomten

April 30, 2015

Last year, local rapper P.O.S curated a miniature music festival deemed "The F***ing Best Show Ever" (TFBSE) after successfully undergoing a kidney transplant. The show is now back for a second year, this time hosted at the Familia Skate Park in Northeast Minneapolis on June 13. The show will include performances by P.O.S himself, Big Freedia, H09909, Marijuana Deathsquads, Triiiiiiiiiip, Psymun, and more.

Similar to its first year, TFBSE will feature live alternative and progressive music. Skateboarding was part of the event last year–no surprise, given that P.O.S likes to ride a board himself–and this year the sport will be a bigger part as TFBSE joins with Familia's 10th anniversary celebration. Initially founded as a celebration of P.O.S's post-surgery return to live musical performance, last September's show in downtown Minneapolis featured artists SZA, Polica, Allan Kingdom, and more. P.O.S remarked from the stage that it "...actually was the best f***ing show ever."

Sponsored by skate brands Thrasher, Nike SB, Diamond Supply, and Familia, this year's TFBSE will be held outside at Familia HQ in Northeast Minneapolis, rain or shine. Following a pre-party held at the First Avenue Mainroom on June 12, which will feature Ying Yang Twins and other special guests, the P.O.S-organized fest begins at 3:30 on June 13 and is open to all ages. Tickets and more information can be found here.
