Como Dockside announces new Music and Movies in the Park series
July 28, 2015
Como Dockside, the new restaurant and venue on Lake Como in St. Paul, will host a revamped Music and Movies in the Park series through August. The Como Park pavilion's new business is kicking off the free Friday evening series August 7 with a performance by soul groovers Southside Desire and a screening of Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure.
Along with performances from local bands including Tropical Depression, Farewell Milwaukee and Fort Wilson Riot, Como Dockside's Music and Movies in the Park will screen cult classics like Muppets From Space, Young Frankenstein and Willow. Each evening's entertainment begins with music at 7 p.m. and movies starting at dusk.
Dockside owners Jon and Jarret Oulman, who also operate the 331 Club in Minneapolis and Amsterdam Bar and Hall in St. Paul, opened Como Dockside in May, after taking it over in January. The pavilion's hosted music before, but this new run of shows - booked in association with the Amsterdam - is the first of its kind at Como Dockside.
Here's the full series schedule for August:
Aug. 7: Southside Desire with Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure
Aug. 14: Tropical Depression with Muppets From Space
Aug. 21: Farewell Milwaukee with Young Frankenstein
Aug. 28: Fort Wilson Riot with Willow
