Listen: Prof’s new song ‘Permission,’ from ‘Liability’
by Jay Gabler
October 15, 2015
Prof's new album Liability will be released tomorrow on Rhymesayers Entertainment, where the indefatigable party-starter is the newest signee. The album title is a theme for the characters who populate the songs: they're the kind of people it's dangerous to have around. (In real life, at least—on record, it's another matter.)
Liability includes guest appearances by Tech N9ne, Waka Flocka Flame, and Petey Pablo; and features production work by Ant, Aesop Rock, Mux Mool, and others. "Permission," the album's penultimate track, is a life-affirming anthem about overcoming personal adversity and keeping your chin up.
Prof's "Liability Tour" opens on Oct. 29 in Duluth and wraps up in Chicago on Nov. 25; the rapper will then join his labelmates at Target Center on Dec. 4 for the massive Rhymesayers 20th Anniversary Concert. The Current's presale for tickets is open now—check out the password.
