Lunar Bedrooms: Lunar Bedrooms EP

Lunar Bedrooms’ debut EP will be out into the world come Thursday. The new-wave — or should I say next-wave — crew is set to release a seven-track EP at the Triple Rock. There is an additional remix of “GSVRU” by c.Kostra as well. They will be joined by Pornonono, Frankie Teardrop, The New Controversial “Skinny Pill,” and Cherry Cola. Check out the dance party Lunar Bedrooms is throwing on Thursday. Mmm…synths and good times.

Battlerat: Spoils

Battlerat have a certain sassy swagger to them. Celeste Heule’s vocals belong in one of those jazz club scenes in the movies, but they’re not. They’re sitting in the midst of a music-genre apocalypse. The five-piece thrives on bouncing rhythms on their piano-driven Spoils EP. They'll be at the 331 Club for the release show on Saturday.

Kristy Marie and the Forget Me Nots: Maiden America

Kristy Marie and the Forget Me Nots are hard to find on the Internet, but they've been busy making music. The Duluth folk-crew finished up their Indiegogo campaign earlier this month. After recording their new release Maiden America, they were looking to beef up their online presence and get funding to distribute the new album. You can see Kristy Marie and the Forget Me Nots play their new material at the Red Herring Lounge on Wednesday night. You might even have a chance to give a goodbye handshake to outgoing Duluth mayor Don Ness.

Shaunaa Heckman: Wanderess

Shaunaa Heckman is about “merging natural instrumentation” with the electronic to make a “female driven” sound. That’s Heckman in a nutshell. Her dreamy electro-pop is a mellow carpet ride into her world. Heckman will be at the Rex Bar in Duluth on Dec. 18 for the release.
