Villa Rosa: Le Muria

This album is named after the mythical lost continent Lemuria. That’s where Maria Isa and Muja Messiah went with this album: mythical and mystical. There are a few classic Villa Rosa songs, “Utah” being one of them, but for the most part, you are floating along through stories of pain and loss, with a few party tracks to lighten the mood. Besides Muja and Maria’s busy solo careers, these two have many other projects happening — like podcasts and videos — but music is their bread and butter. Put down that Tony Bennett and Lady Gaga Christmas album: these two have got your playlist covered for a few days. You can catch them at the Turf Club on Saturday.

Loons in the Attic: Pick A Color

Loons in the Attic are debuting their first full-length on Christmas Day. The five-piece have gone a tad heavier on the synths on their single “Démodé,” compared to their self-titled EP. They even have it as a free download. No release show has been listed, but I’m sure after your Christmas wraps up, the Loons will be out there somewhere. Take a listen as you drink that eggnog.
