Broad City season three opener features Lizzo and Caroline Smith song ‘Let ‘Em Say’

“Let ‘Em Say,” the 2014 joint single by Lizzo and Caroline Smith, is featured in the opening scene of the forthcoming third season of Comedy Central’s wildly popular show Broad City. In a clip shared via Entertainment Weekly, the show’s heroines Abbi and Ilana enjoy a wide range of activities (some NSFW, albeit pixelated) in their respective bathrooms as Lizzo and Smith sing about self-empowerment.
The song, which is sure to reach a new national audience in this scene, has been a local favorite since the day it premiered. Our listeners voted it the best local song — and second-best song overall (after only Hozier’s “Take Me To Church”) — of 2014. Just a couple of weeks ago, Caroline Smith joined Lizzo during the latter’s First Ave headlining show for a joyful duet on what’s become their signature song.
Update: But wait, there’s more! Check out this intel.
Keep your eyes peeled for a Har Mar sighting on @broadcity tonight on @ComedyCentral 10/9 central. @abbijacobson & @ilazer are the best.

@LocalCurrent It’s not @broadcity‘s first Minneapolis music nod. The intro theme samples Slug (“4 and 3 and 2 and 1!”) from a Felt album.
