Music News: David Bowie’s art and furniture collection to be shown, then sold

400 pieces of art and furniture from the private collection of David Bowie will be sold at Sotheby's in November — but first they're going to star in an exhibit that will visit London, Los Angeles, New York, and Hong Kong. A visual artist himself, Bowie owned pieces by towering figures including Marcel DuchampDamien Hirst, and Jean-Michel Basquiat. (New York Times)

Bowie will be honored, along with John Coltrane and Steve Reich, in the coming season of the World Music Institute in New York. At a Nov. 11 concert, Seu Jorge will perform Bowie's songs in Portuguese, as he did in the movie The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou. (New York Times)

Beyoncé nominated for Emmys

Beyoncé’s film Lemonade — the "visual album" accompaniment to her record of the same name — has been nominated for four Emmy Awards. The nominations are for Outstanding Production Design For a Variety, Nonfiction, Event Or Award Special; Outstanding Directing For a Variety Special; Outstanding Picture Editing For Variety Programming; and Outstanding Variety Special. Steven Tyler "concerned" about Joe Perry

Steven Tyler says he's "really concerned" about his Aerosmith bandmate Joe Perry, who was hospitalized this past weekend after leaving the stage during a Hollywood Vampires show.
