Music News: Prince’s ‘Purple Rain’ jacket and shirt sell for $96K each

A motorcycle jacket and frilled shirt worn by Prince in Purple Rain have sold at auction for approximately $96,000 each. The items were given by Prince to a makeup artist who worked on the film. (Paper)

A new online "museum" is dedicated to the multifarious Web presences Prince maintained over the course of his career. Pearl Jam to release live album recorded at Third Man Records

David Gilmour plays Pink Floyd rarity

At a recent concert in Poland, David Gilmour played Pink Floyd’s 1971 Meddle opener "One of These Days" for the first time since Pink Floyd performed the song in 1994. Next week, Gilmour will return, for two concerts, to the amphitheater where the Pink Floyd in Pompeii concert film was shot in 1971. (Rolling Stone)

David Brent is back

David Brent — the failed-musician-turned-failed-junior-executive played by Ricky Gervais on the original British version of The Office — will appear in an upcoming film called David Brent: Life on the Road.
