Allan Kingdom joins Kanye West at the Brit Awards to perform new track, ‘All Day’

by Jay Gabler

February 25, 2015

At the Brit awards tonight, Kanye West debuted a new song called "All Day" - accompanied by none other than Minnesota MC Allan Kingdom. West was also joined by Theophilus London for the song, which is expected to appear on West's new album; it's the fourth song he's previewed from the album, which will also include at least two Paul McCartney collaborations, one of which is the top-ten hit "FourFiveSeconds" with Rihanna.

Update: The studio version of "All Day" has now been officially released, and credits reveal that it features not only Kingdom and London, but also Paul McCartney.

Celebrities including Taylor Swift and Lionel Richie enjoyed the (literally) fiery song. Theophilus London was scheduled to perform at the Fine Line in Minneapolis last night; maybe now we know why he canceled that show.

To hear a sense of what Kingdom sounds like on his own, listen to him perform a set last fall in The Current's studios. He's also a member of the national-sensation supergroup thestand4rd; read Andrea Swensson's recap of their St. Paul show last fall. Buzz around Kingdom has already been intense: he topped the most recent City Pages Picked to Click poll. Chris Riemenschneider of the Star Tribune speculates that the connection with West came about through Kanye's creative director Virgil Abloh.
