Cobi Mike of Gentlemen Hall goes solo with ‘Walking Through the Fire’

by Jay Gabler

March 25, 2015

Minnesota native Cobi Mike has been a familiar face to pop fans who know him as vocalist and guitarist with the band Gentlemen Hall. He's now going solo with debut single "Walking Through the Fire," from Cobi Mike's forthcoming self-titled EP. The EP will also include "First Snow," a song written this winter in Minnesota.

Gentlemen Hall were formed several years ago at Boston's Berklee College of Music; they found rapid success in Boston, earning a 2009 Video Music Award for Best Breakout Boston Artist and a 2010 nod from the Boston Phoenix as best new local act. National success followed, including a performance on the 2011 Billboard Awards and a 2014 tour that had them sharing stages with the likes of Beyoncé and Cee Lo Green.

Though his success in Gentlemen Hall may make him the first native Minnesotan to have a Ben & Jerry's smoothie named after his band, Cobi Mike has decided to part ways with the band to pursue a solo career. Below, take a listen to "Walking Through the Fire."
