Stranger Things makes a splash in the music world

Just two days after Wiz Khalifa sampled the Stranger Things theme song in a song called, appropriately, "Stranger Things," YouTuber/internet darling Nathan Zed hopped on the train. "You can really do anything with this BRUH," he snaps as he shows off his Kanye West, Kendrick, Drake, Beyoncé, and Desiigner mash-ups (all while being infinitely more watchable than Steve).

A swell of music-to-be

For the last year or so, Replacements bassist Tommy Stinson has devoted his time to his solo career. But this week, he announced that his early-1990s band Bash & Pop has reunited and will drop a new album near the beginning of next year. The press release teases a January 2017 reunion show in the 7th St. Entry. (The Current)

Following the release of his Cashmere Cat/Francis & the Lights collaboration "Wild Love" (which, happily, sounds a lot like the new Bon Iver), the Weeknd has promised his Beauty Behind The Madness follow-up STARBOY. Its release date still has yet to be announced, but the Weeknd has already shared the Nabil-designed cover art and a lead single (featuring Daft Punk). (Pitchfork)

Three vinyl Beck reissues (Odelay, Sea Change, and Guero) are set to drop on October 28. (Pitchfork)

Jay Z, Beyonce tap stars for Robin Hood Foundation benefit concert

Mr. and Mrs. Carter have recruited Nicki Minaj, Blood Orange, Ms. Lauryn Hill, and several other big names for their latest Tidal-exclusive concert, which will take place on October 15 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn. (Rolling Stone)

Gaga keeps the fantasy at bay

Lady Gaga has followed up her recent album announce with a video for lead single "Perfect Illusion." Joanne, which features assists from Kevin ParkerFlorence Welch, and many more alternative artists, drops Oct. 21. (The FADER)

Christine and the Queens, Gallant run with Elton John

Last Sunday, Apple Music's 10-day, eponymous festival started with a bang in London. During his 20-song set, Sir Elton John brought on Gallant for "Weight In Gold" and "Bennie and the Jets." A few songs later, Parker Millsap joined John to play "The Very Last Day" and "Don't Let The Sun Go Down On Me," and French artist Christine and the Queens rounded out the guest appearances with "Tilted" and "Tiny Dancer." (Millsap and Gallant have both hit the Turf Club in the last month.) (Rolling Stone)

Chance the Rapper still has flow

Chicago's very own hopped on Joey Purp's newest track, "Girls @," to shout out the ladies in the club. (Also of note: Tidal subscribers can stream Chance's Magnificent Coloring Day, a one-day festival featuring Lil Wayne and Skrillex, as it happens this Saturday.) (The FADER)
